Anthony Edwards: “I’ve already been through the worst, but we have no choice but to stay positive”

Anthony Edwards: “I’ve already been through the worst”

Due to the difficulties of Edwards and Towns, the strong performances of the rest of the Wolves were quickly forgotten. Naz Reid would have deserved a statue in the middle of the Mall of America in Minneapolis for his explosion in Game 2, but instead people will remember him most for his missed game-winner. Jaden McDaniels excelled in Game 1 with 24 points, and he scored well again in Game 3. Mike Conley is also playing a strong series, and without his playmaking Minnesota would be completely lost.

Edwards and Towns have not shone as playmakers in the series so far, although Edwards showed improvement in Game 3. Kyle Anderson once again proved to be a great help in this area, and he has also had success as a defender against Doncic for a few minutes; he has more mass than the super athlete McDaniels.

The structure for Edwards and Towns is in place, but it’s probably still too late. Even if just one or two of the eight Wolves in the rotation have a bad game, Dallas only needs to get hot downtown for one of the next four duels to have a pretty good chance. And an answer in defense against Doncic and Irving isn’t exactly in sight.

The Wolves were still optimistic. Naz Reid said: “If anyone can win four in a row in this scenario, it’s us.” The trio of Edwards, Anderson and Conley seemed almost too relaxed at the press conference. “I’ve been through the worst, the sky never falls on my head. We have no choice but to stay positive.”
