Amiens Basketball Club Organizes Successful Generation Basketball Center During Spring Break

The Amiens Basket Ball Metropolis (MABB) successfully organized a new Generation Basketball Center during the spring holidays.

The Amiens Basket Ball Metropolis (MABB), holder of the three-star Citizen Club label awarded by the French Basketball Federation, is praised for its sporting and social impact. This once again enriches the work carried out in the priority districts of the city of Amiens. It supports the labels women’s training club and French mini basketball school, which also have three stars each.

During spring break, the club organized a Generation Basketball Center, a completely free basketball program for young people, supported by the city policy ofAmiens, its youth service, the Federation, GRDF and Kinder. This initiative attracts around 150 participants daily and makes Amiens an example to follow at the national level.

As part of the Amiens Métropole City Contract system, this project welcomes young people aged 7 to 25 years old. Émile Moiroud Gymnasium, promoting the learning and development of basketball skills in an inclusive and educational environment. The activity is particularly popular with children aged 7 to 11. In addition, the club offers free licenses to unlicensed young people valid until June 30, 2024, allowing them to discover and practice basketball in an associative framework.

The MABB has enriched its program with an educational and social dimension thanks to a collaboration with the educational city of Amiens, which invites students from schools and colleges in Étouvie and Amiens Nord to come and participate. One of the highlights was the visit of Manuel Coudray, known under the stage name Manu Keys, former MC of Ideal J and Mafia K’1 Fry, at the Émile Moiroud gymnasium. He shared his basketball and writing experience, offered and signed his book The Best for All during an event organized by the APAP youth network.

The week ended with a 3×3 basketball tournamentrecognized by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), highlighting the MABB’s commitment to strengthening social ties through sport, particularly in the priority neighborhoods of Amiens with its 3×3 basketball league.
