Bad Aibling – 11 medals – that is the pleasing result of the Aiblinger judo young talent at the Upper Bavarian U11 and U15 individual championships. On April 27th, the Upper Bavarian Individual Judo Championship for the U11 age group was held for the first time. The very well organized tournament was hosted by TuS Holzkirchen and SV Sachsenkam. A total of 170 fighters took part in the tournament.

TuS Bad Aibling entered the race with four athletes. The girls, Klara Neustätter and Pauline Wetzel, made the start. Klara Neustätter confidently prevailed against her opponents in her class and thus secured first place. Pauline Wetzel only had to admit defeat in one fight and was able to celebrate the bronze medal in the end.

After the girls, the Bad Aiblinger boys took to the mat. Here the TuS judoka Benjamin Petter and Helge Kubitza could not be deterred from their path to success. Both were able to win all of their matches and were able to rightly and deservedly secure the title of Upper Bavarian champions.

A day later, things got serious for the male and female U15 age groups. A total of nine starters from the spa town made their way to Moosburg to fight for the championship title. The tournament was organized by SG Moosburg, the fight took place on two mat surfaces, and a total of 110 judokas took part.

Motivated by the successes of the previous day, the young people wanted to be in no way inferior to their younger club mates. So they went into their encounters with concentration and showed great fighting spirit and judo that was worth seeing. In the end, the championship titles deservedly went to Louisa Nowak and Raphael Neustätter, who dominated all of their matches from the start and won confidently. Regina Giss, Ana-Maria Afrisinei and Robert Samvelyan were runners-up. Evelyn Petter and Fiona Nowak were happy about third place and thus the bronze medal.

The seven medal winners qualified through their performances for the South Bavarian Championship, which will take place on May 11th and is organized by the Swabian club SV Gold-Blau Augsburg. Unfortunately, the tournament didn’t go as well for Emeline Wetzel and Adrian Graupner. Emeline Wetzel was eliminated in the consolation round despite a good performance. Adrian Graupner narrowly missed qualifying for the South Bavarian competition with a good 7th place. Overall, it was a very successful weekend for the young judo talent from Bad Aibling

The home trainers Anamaria Budiu and Thomas Nowak, who accompanied and looked after the children on both days, were also extremely satisfied. “Five championship titles, three runner-up titles and three bronze medals is an excellent result. The performances shown were simply great,” said the two coaches in agreement.
