Latvian hockey players arrived at Riga airport at 22.15 on a flight from Vienna.
It has already been reported that the Latvian ice hockey players did not make it to the quarterfinals at the World Championship in Ostrava on Tuesday, losing to the USA in the final subgroup match with 3:6, and ended the tournament in ninth position.
Latvian hockey players started the tournament with three victories, defeating the Polish national team 5:4 in extra time, France 3:2 in overtime and Kazakhstan 2:0 in regular time. After that, the superiority of Germany was recognized with 1:8 and Sweden lost with 2:7, but in the previous match Slovakia was defeated with 3:2 in the penalty shootout.
The World Championship will take place in the Czech cities of Prague and Ostrava until May 26.
