2nd league: GAK shooting festival against Stripfing

The Graz team fell behind on the FAC pitch in Vienna-Floridsdorf thanks to a goal from Dario Kreiker (24th). An own goal from Stefan Rakowitz (27th), a brace from Lenn Jastremski (32nd, 35th) and a goal from striker Daniel Maderner (45th + 1) gave Gernot Messner’s team a 4-1 half-time lead.

After the break, Enis Safin made it 2:4, but Thomas Schiestl (66th) scored the final point with 5:2. For the first time this season, GAK scored five goals.

Home victories for pursuers Ried and Leoben

There were also victories for the pack of pursuers who already had no chance. After an early red card for Benjamin Sammer (23rd), a penalty goal from Mark Grosse (44th) was enough for SV Guntamatic Ried to win 1-0 at home against Sturm Graz II. DSV TGI Gold Leoben, which is still without a license for the coming season, beat stragglers Schwarz-Weiß Bregenz 2-0 thanks to a brace from Cheikhou Dieng (26th, 33rd). FAC Wien won 3-2 at SV Horn, FC Flyeralarm Admira won 3-1 at SV Licht-Loidl Lafnitz.

Bottom team Amstetten scores against Liefering

In the bottom of the table, bottom team SKU Ertl Glas Amstetten held FC Liefering 1-1 at home, but with a five-point gap to Sturm II, last place seems almost certain for the Lower Austrians with two rounds remaining.

The Graz team can no longer be saved in terms of sport, but FC Mohren Dornbirn can still hope. The Vorarlbergers, who are also currently without a license for 2024/25, beat SKN St. Pölten 3-1 within three minutes (86th, 70th) thanks to a brace from Ramon Tanque and are now only ahead two points behind SW Bregenz or the line. For St. Pölten it was the seventh game in a row without a win, with six defeats. The “Wolves” can certainly no longer be relegated after the second game under coach Christoph Witamwas.

The question of relegation is not resolved on the pitch

The question of relegation will be clarified not least at the green table. Because Leoben and Dornbirn are still without admission for the coming season, and the regional league teams Austria Salzburg and Hertha Wels currently do not have permission to play – the Permanent Neutral Arbitration Court will decide their fate. As things stand, only two teams from the regional leagues, ASK Voitsberg and Rapid II, would meet all the criteria for promotion.
