Zamorano Judo Shines at Alevín Autonomous Championship with Four Medals

He Zamorano judo achieved four medals (two silver and two bronze medals) in Valladolid, where the Alevín Autonomous Championship took place, competition in which around 200 participants came from all the provinces of Castilla y León.

On behalf of the Gokyo Judo Club, they attended the event with a very young team, since all its members were first-year juniors. The first to enter the fray were in the men’s category, in which Izan Alaejos participated in -38kg and Ander Rodríguez in -46kg, who had good fights, but failed to make the cut in their league.

Later, it was the turn of the women’s category with the participation of Paula Mateos in -40kg and Helena De Castro in -44kg, whose nerves did not allow them to develop the judo they have. Meanwhile, Alba Sánchez, at + 52kg, managed to make the cut in her league and get into the final fights, winning a creditable bronze.

As for Judo Morales, Joel Martín and Cristian García in -34kg were very good. Cristian made the cut in his league and was only one match away from fighting for the medals, while Joel’s league was so close that they were tied and had to repeat it, leaving both of them with a good feeling.

Meanwhile, Javier Diéguez and Daniel Manso (-42kg) could not overcome their league, but they fought without giving up anything until the end with a very positive attitude; Joel Esteban and Bertrán Vidal (+55kg) faced opponents with much more experience than them and were not intimidated, along with Celia Hernández and Ariadna Martín (-40kg) who were just one match away from fighting for the medals.

The medals for Morales came with Lidia Coco (-32kg), who won the bronze doing some very good fights; Oliver Gómez (-42kg), who hung his plata performing a very intelligent judo, and Gonzalo Bragado (-46kg) who climbed to the second place on the podium with some very hard fights and with very good judo.
