Yzeure-Judo Shines at Interdepartmental Championships with Podium Finishes

Representatives of Yzeure-Judo stood on the podiums of the recent junior, senior and junior team interdepartmental championships.

The seniors were in contention from the morning with the victory of Eloïse Le Roux in -63 kg who won all her fights by ippon. The young Yzeurienne is thus selected for the AuRA championship in Grenoble, at the end of April where she will try to qualify for the French 1st division championship.

The club presented a minimal team in alliance with ASPTT Moulins which ranked 3rd with also a ticket for the AuRA championship.

The youngest children, coached by Jessy Goroch, performed very well with the first places of Baptiste Avelin (-55 kg) and Maxence Corneloup (-34 kg). Léo Morin (-26 kg), author of a very good run, won silver, while Lynna Bennacer (-36 kg) climbed to the third step of the podium. Sacha Dumas was unable to place.

President Jean-Pierre Fantin was satisfied with these overall results. “With the three exceptional medals at the French championship at the end of March, the youngest and seniors with Eloïse Leroux, who is still a junior, make the Yzeurian colors shine. Training, the central axis of the Yzeure-Judo project, is highlighted more than ever.”
