Young judokas showcase their skills at mass training session in Combourg

Saturday April 6, 2024, the youngest members of the Dojo bushidô Ryu judo club were gathered in Combourg (Ille-et-Vilaine) for mass training. They are between 4 and 12 years old. Coaches and parents were able to see everyone’s involvement and level in judo.

At this age, young people are in the judo awareness category, where the exercises are targeted judo motor skills. This is the opportunity for Sébastien Élluard, president of the club, to take stock of the club: “We have two Dojos, in Combourg and Tinténiac. Jean-Luc Gérard, 6th dan red and white belt (level of excellence), Thomas Guezennec and Édith Hilary are our teachers. We are growing strongly with 15% more staff compared to the previous season. The group is dynamic and attracts licensees from a large sector centered on romantic Brittany. The Bushidô Ryu Dojo organizes several highlights during the year, such as a festive gathering at Christmas time, where judokas from Tinténiac can meet those from Combourg. Days like today are an opportunity for young people to apply what they have learned in the techniques and values ​​of judo’s moral code: politeness, courage, self-control, modesty, respect and honor are in the DNA of judo that we transmit. »

Parajudo

“The practice of judo does not prohibit the practice of other sports. Young people can develop other qualities in team sports or jogging for example,” indicates the president. The range of club proposals and activities is wide. He runs parajudo sessions on Thursdays, which can concern all kinds of deficiencies, visual or hearing, for example. “Judoka Swan Bean also gives a course for members of the Esat (establishment and work assistance service) of Saint-Symphorien”, welcomes Sébastien Élluard.

In upcoming news, the club is preparing an important interclub event, Saturday April 20, in the rooms of the Châtel de Combourg sports area. “This competition is important for all young people. They will experience weighing, fighting and arbitration. Everything that is essential to our sport,” concludes the president.
