Will Cameron Puertas Make a Move to Turkey Next Summer?

Cameron Puertas is having a three-star season with Union Saint-Gilloise, and nothing says that he will not follow Teddy Teuma, Deniz Undav or even Siebe Van der Heyden in his desires elsewhere next summer. Towards… Turkey?

Cameron Puertas (25 years old) is a transformed player this season. The Hispano-Swiss has 20 assists in 48 meetings with Union Saint-Gilloise, of which he has become one of the key men. But like every summer, the USG will have to fear departures this summer, including that of Puertas.

And according to the Turkish press, notably the media Star, Cameron Puertas would have caught the eye of a European opponent of the Union this season: Fenerbahçe. During the double confrontation against the Istanbulites, Puertas did not manage to be decisive, but he still won over observers.

According to Star, the contacts would be real: Fenerbahçe sporting director Mario Branco would have in mind to conclude the deal in the coming weeks. He would already work hard to resolve the matter, knowing that other clubs including… Galatasaray would be interested.

Puertas, soon in Türkiye?

It’s difficult to judge the reliability of such information, but interest in Puertas is inevitable given his season. Fenerbahçe certainly has the means to afford the unionist creative environment, valued at 11 million euros, and we know that USG’s policy is not to retain its executives in the event of a big offer.

Cameron Puertas arrived at Union in January 2022 from Lausanne Sport. His beginnings were timid, particularly last season during which, despite 47 matches in all competitions, he only provided a small assist. Day and night compared to this 2023-2024 season!
