Wenea, an electric vehicle charging operator in Spain, has announced its expansion to Portugal, being the first independent Spanish operator to offer its services in the Portuguese country. The company already has two operating stations and they hope to continue expanding the number of charging points throughout the country, as reported in a press release.

Along these lines, the company consolidates its position in its third international market, establishing itself as a leading independent operator in the United Kingdom, Portugal and Spain. In the latter, it has more than 1,200 operational charging points, positioning itself as the most extensive ultra-fast charging network in the country. In addition, these stations are strategically located to meet the charging needs of electric vehicle customers, with powers ranging up to 360 kW.

The Spanish company’s milestone has been completed after approval and integration with MOBI.E. Thus, the Portuguese public company, which manages the Electric Mobility Network, accredits Wenea as an eMSP (Electric Mobility Service Provider), which means for it to be able to market its charging services throughout the extensive network of chargers in the neighboring country. Prior to this, Wenea put its first two charging stations into operation in Portugal and obtained its license as a CPO (Charging Point Operator).

Wenea’s strategy in the neighboring country is to extend its network of its own charging points in urban and interurban areas and gain customers through a diverse and competitive offering of charging services.
