Victoriaville Cactus Acquires Powerful Left-Handed Hitter Raphael John Leblanc in Major Trade Deal

Important transaction in the Quebec Major Baseball League, as the Victoriaville Cactus acquired powerful left-handed hitter Raphael John Leblanc and a first-round pick in 2025.

In return, general manager René-Dave Pelchat sold left-handed hitter Yan-Éric Tremblay to the Shawinigan Cascades, two first-round picks in 2024 (Victoriaville and Coaticook) and a second-round pick, also in 2024.

In three seasons with the Cascades, Leblanc maintained a batting average of .348 with 14 home runs and 93 RBIs. Last year, as a designated hitter, he was named to the Bélisle circuit all-star team. Last August, he helped Quebec win the Canadian championship.

In Tremblay’s case, he did not play last season. However, he should return to action, having played a total of four seasons in the Cactus uniform. In 81 games, he had a .332 batting average. He hit 6 home runs and drove in 84 runs.
