There couldn’t have been a better capstone to a memorable season than Friday’s game against the Denver Nuggets at home. The current champions actually had a comfortable 81:60 lead in the game against the San Antonio Spurs, the second-worst team in the Western Conference, with just over eight minutes of play. But then Victor Wembanyama really got going for the first time in this pretty meaningless game for the Texans and scored 17 points in quick succession within three minutes, including safe three-pointers from quite a distance.
