VfB Stuttgart and FC Bayern Munich Extend Alexander Nübel’s Loan Deal

VfB and FC Bayern Munich have agreed to continue Alexander Nübel’s loan.

Alexander Nübel will wear the jersey with the chest ring throughout the summer. VfB has agreed with FC Bayern Munich to continue the 27-year-old goalkeeper’s loan for two more seasons. Alexander Nübel has been playing for VfB since summer 2023. In the past few months he has distinguished himself as a reliable support for the team in 25 Bundesliga and four DFB Cup games. He has remained clean nine times in the Bundesliga so far this season – most recently in the away win in Dortmund – thanks to strong saves, and three times in the DFB Cup.

VfB sports director Fabian Wohlgemuth: “Alex Nübel integrated into the team straight away last summer and quickly became a decisive factor in our game. He exudes enormous calm and security and has therefore played a significant role in our season, which has been so positive so far. Both Alex and we were very interested in continuing our collaboration, so we are happy and satisfied that we have found an appropriate solution and that Alex will continue to wear the VfB jersey.”

Alexander Nübel: “I felt very comfortable at VfB and in Stuttgart from the first moment. Together we have experienced great development over the past few months. I’m happy to be part of this team and could therefore very quickly imagine staying at VfB beyond the summer. I’m already looking forward to the new season. First of all, our entire concentration is of course on the current season, which we want to complete as successfully as possible with the support of our great fans.”
