The third best result in qualifying was achieved by Aston Martin driver Fernando Alonso, followed by both McLaren representatives Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.
Ferrari drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz were sixth and seventh, George Russell (Mercedes) was seventh, and Nico Hilkenberg (Haas) and Valtteri Bottas (Alfa Romeo) were in ninth and tenth.
The second part of qualifying was briefly halted after Sainz lost control of his car and slid off the track after hitting the commercials, but the Ferrari driver then returned to the track and achieved a good enough result to secure a place in the third part of qualifying.

On Saturday, before qualifying, a sprint race was held, in which Norris and Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) started from the first two places.

On the other hand, Verstappen, starting from fourth place, faced battery problems at the beginning of the race and was more than two seconds behind the leader in the first laps, but he became the leader in the middle of the race and defended the first position until the finish.
Verstappen celebrated an emphatic victory to beat second-placed Hamilton by 13.043 seconds, while Perez was 15.258 seconds behind his team-mate in third.
Ferrari drivers Charles Leclair and Carlos Sainz immediately remained outside the top three, taking fourth and fifth place, respectively.
Verstappen is the overall leader with 85 points. He is followed by Perez with 70 points, while Leclair with 64 points and Sainz with 59 points are in the third and fourth positions, respectively.
Red Bull is the leader in the Constructors’ Cup with 155 points, followed by Ferrari with 129 points.
Saturday will see the sprint race and qualifying for the main race scheduled for Sunday.
This season, 24 stages will be held in the F1 championship.
