Uzbekistan is taking the match against Indonesia seriously in the semifinals of the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup. Timur Kapadze’s troops are preparing tactics to win the match.
Indonesia vs Uzbekistan is one of the semi-finals of the U-23 Asian Cup. The match is scheduled for Monday (29/4/2024) evening WIB at the Abdullah bin Khalifah Stadium.
The Indonesian U-23 national team could be said to be the dark horse in the U-23 Asian Cup. Garuda Selamat is the debutant and the only semifinalist team that has never won the competition.
Uzbekistan itself was the champion in the 2018 edition and has finalist status in 2022. The West Asian representative is working hard to win the second U-23 Asian Cup trophy in history.
Uzbekistan’s optimism grew even brighter after beating Saudi Arabia 2-0 in the quarter-finals. Saudi Arabia is the team that beat them in the 2022 U-23 Asian Cup final, and also buried Uzbekistan’s dream of becoming champions at home.
Uzbekistan player Khusayin Norchaev expressed confidence. The 22-year-old striker emphasized that his team does not take Indonesia lightly, and is fighting to qualify for the final and win the championship trophy.
“We achieved a great victory against Saudi Arabia. We thank the people who have blessed us,” said Norchaev, quoted by Uzbekistan media Aniq.uz.
“We also studied Indonesia, the coaches trained us. I hope we can achieve our goals by using good tactics against them,” he explained.
