Union defender Christian Burgess and his partner announced on Wednesday evening that they are expecting a child. “Our little rainbow is coming.”

Rainbow babies is the name given to children born into a family that has previously experienced a miscarriage, stillbirth or other form of tragic pregnancy.
“We are painfully aware that fertility looks different for everyone. It wouldn’t feel right to only share the positive because our journey was also filled with heartache and fear,” the couple is honest and open on social media.
“Always remember that you don’t know what someone else may be struggling with privately. We know how difficult these announcements can be. If you are having a hard time, our thoughts go out to you. We hope you get your miracle soon.”
Christian Burgess is still very much in the title race with Union. Two weeks ago he was in the news after he threw a throw-in in the face of opponent Tolu Arokodare and was suspended for that. After the 2-1 defeat at Anderlecht last weekend, Union is in second place.
