An incredible weekend, with more than 1500 athletes of all ages having fun and competing together and an audience that packed the stands of PalaMolza, Novi Sad, the gyms of Castelvetro, Medolla, Gino Nasi: all this is Uisp Modena when it arrives spring.
DANCING ON TOUR. Another enormous success was that of “Danzando in Tour – The last dance”, in 2024 which, after the three selection stages between Modena, Imola and Faenza (with over 700 dancers and 1300 spectators), saw the finals held at the PalaMolza in Modena before a frame of 1500 spectators divided over the two days of competition between Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th April, encouraged and greeted by the sports councilor Grazia Baracchi and the Uisp president Vera Tavoni.
545 dancers qualified for the finals for a total of 108 choreographies divided by style categories and age. On Saturday the choreographies of Open Show and Urban/Hip Hop were performed. These are the prizes. In the under 12 groups Open Show the girls of Nazareno Carpi were rewarded, in the under 16 groups Open Show victory for Accademia Danza Fitness with the choreography “The Search”, in the over Open Show prizes for Accademia Danza Fitness and Ritmo Caliente. Moving on toUrban/Hip Hop: success in the under 9 groups for La Patria Carpi with “Superbowl”; in the under 12 groups victory for Arcadia with “Pump it up”; in the under 16 groups, always hip hop, first place again for Arcadia with “Problem”; in the over groups, equal success went to Greenjoy with “So vez” and Accademia DanzaFitness with “Creed”. In hip hop, Talents also competed, i.e. choreographies for solo or pas de deux: in the under 12s Joydance was awarded, in the under 16s Arcadia and Accademia DanzaFitness were awarded, in the overs Arcadia won with “Japan”. On Saturday the one-on-one hip hop and breakdance “battle” also took place: successes for Django in the open hip hop, Gerik in the open break, Black Out for under 14 hip hop, B-Boy Panther for under 14 break. Classical, contemporary and modern dance on stage on Sunday. Off, Greenjoy, Arci Soliera, Aneser Dance, Accademia DanzaFitness, Bodylife 2.0, Dance Art Studio were awarded. In the Classico: in under 12 groups victory for Centro La Fenice with “Mazurka”; in under 16 groups success for Start Dance and Movement with “November; in under 9 talents first place for Dance Art Studio with “Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf”; in the under 12 talent category, Start Danza e Movimento won with “Pipistrello variation”; in the under 16 talent category, first place again for Start Dance and Movement with “Awakening of Flora; in over talents first Sparkling Project with “Princess Fiorina”. In the Modern: in under 9 groups victory by Accademia DanzaFitness with “Sweet Disposition”; in the under 16 groups Off won with “Poetica. In the Contemporary: in the under 9 groups, victory for Centro Le Fenice with “Gioriamo”, in the under 12 groups, success again for Centro La Fenice with “Nei my dreams”; in the under 16 groups Aneser Dance won with “Solitude is ice for the soul”; in the under 9 talent category, success for Centro La Fenice with “Ho losing my head”; in under 16 talents Ikodanza affirmation with “Something has changed”. At the end of the event, Uisp judge Camilla Colussi selected for the finals of national competition “City in dance” 40 choreographies which will then return to perform in November in Turin. In the next few days, a scholarship will be awarded by the event partner Soroptimist to cover the expenses related to the “City in Dance” trip.
ARTISTIC AND RHYTHMIC GYMNASTICS. Almost 600 young gymnasts enlivened the sports halls across the province last weekend. An entire day dedicated to artistic gymnastics took place in Castelvetro: first the motor courses dedicated to nursery schools with 45 girls, then the acrobatics competition with 300 girls representing the companies Animo Castelvetro, Happy Time Castellarano, J-Fit ( Reggio Emilia), La Trottola Castelfranco Emilia, Polivalente Maranello, Marzabotto (Bologna), Pico Mirandola, Polisportiva San Faustino, Società Ginnastica Castelnovese, Sport Center Nonantola. In Medolla, however, the second provincial test of individual and team rhythmic gymnastics took place with over 200 very young athletes taking turns on the platform for the companies Anima Ritmica, San Faustino, Soliera, Uisp Modena Medolla, Viola Dance & Fitness (MN). Uisp Modena gymnastics will close the season on Saturday and Sunday in Campogalliano with the three-round competition and over 500 gymnasts registered.
CYCLING EMILIA RACE- On Saturday 13 April there will also be space for the Emilia Cycling Race at the Novi Sad Park: 170 athletes competing divided into the various categories, from the M1 to the most populated of all, the M6. Three stages have already been run, with six still to run. From April to October then a great show with the Challenge Grimpeur, five stages with very difficult and short climbs on our Apennines. At the end, the best climber will win the ranking and will be awarded the “Marco Pantani” prize.
NOSE JUDO- Sponsored by the Oriental Disciplines sector Uisp Modena, a judo competition was also held on Saturday at the Polisportiva Gino Nasi, with the organization of master Sergio Bertozzi. A success for over 100 children of all categories.
