Tom Brady Open to NFL Comeback as Medical Wildcard

Former NFL star Tom Brady, considered the greatest player of all time, said Thursday he was prepared to come out of retirement as a medical wildcard if approached by a team in need of a quarterback.

Guest of the “Deep Cut” podcast, the former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers player, winner of seven Super Bowls and retired since 2023, said he would study the idea if asked. “I’m not opposed to it,” Brady, 46, said when asked if he would pick up the phone in case a team called him.

The ambition to become an owner

Currently minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, the ex-quarterback aims to become the owner of a team, which could be incompatible with a playing role.

“I don’t know if they’re going to let me own a team. I will always be in good shape. I will still be able to throw the ball. I don’t know if they would let me come back much like MJ (Michael Jordan). But I wouldn’t be opposed to it,” Brady said.
