This Tuesday it was announced that three people from Arteaga were selected to compete at the national level in different disciplines by the National Commission of Physical Culture and Sports.
This is 13-year-old Oliver Jalomo Belmares, originally from Ejido Los Lirios, who after several qualifying rounds made it to the final in the minor youth category in the Bull Rider discipline.
Likewise, after several competitions, Zabdiel Martínez Rivera, 18 years old, originally from the municipal capital, managed to advance to the national competition for the second consecutive time in the pair roping category.
Previously in 2023 he was state champion and regional champion, this will even be the second year that he will represent Coahuila in the CONADE competitions, since during the 3 qualifying rounds he remained in first place.
Finally, there is Alejandra Montalvo Aguirre, originally from Arteaga, who at the age of 16 was selected as a representative of Coahuila in the False Lazo competition after several eliminatory rounds.

It should be noted that the previous year he also went to national competitions in Chihuahua and managed to travel to Brazil to represent Mexico in the same category during other competitions.
The three young people maintain their studies at the secondary and high school level with high academic qualifications. sport being his greatest motivation.
For this reason, the mayor of Arteaga, Ramiro Durán García, stated that his dedication and talent have been recognized once again.
“I am sure that they will carry the name of Arteaga and Coahuila high at CONADE 2024. I want to express my most sincere recognition to these young athletes, as well as their families and coaches for the hard work and sacrifice they have shown, may they continue reaping successes and representing our community with pride,” he said.
