They promote development in the southeast of Mexico with a strategic agreement in the interoceanic corridor – El Sol de México

The Secretary of the Navy (SEMAR), the Tehuantepec Isthmus Railway (FIT) and the Mexican multinational Cemex signed a collaboration agreement today that marks a milestone in the logistics of supplying construction supplies in the southeast of the country.

The agreement establishes a cooperation framework that will allow the FIT’s railway infrastructure to be used to transport cement on a large scale, seeking the timely delivery of this essential material for the development of the region.

The signing of this agreement is a reflection of the combined efforts between the authority and the private initiative to promote the economic growth of the Mexican southeast and its ability to consistently satisfy the demand for materials.

The relevance of this agreement is magnified with the recent restart of operations of the FIT Z line, which promotes the movement of freight trains along the interoceanic corridor of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec. This corridor, strategically located to connect the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, is vital for the movement of materials and goods, and its optimization is key to the economic development of the region.

The southeast of Mexico has been characterized as a region with broad potential for the development of infrastructure projects, from roads and bridges to urban and tourist developments.

The availability of cement, as one of the key components in the construction industry and the country’s growth, is essential for these projects to be carried out without delays, thus contributing to the progress and well-being of the communities.
