The TAD orders to repeat the FEF electoral process

The Administrative Court of Sports (TAD) has upheld the appeal presented by Miguel Galán against the census of the Spanish Football Federation (FEF) and has ordered a repeat of the electoral process for the presidency of the organization, for which Pedro Rocha was the sole candidate. and is now threatened with provisional suspension or disqualification. The decision to return to the starting point to hold new elections now corresponds to the FEF electoral commission, which according to the TAD must issue a resolution “in accordance with the law.”

Miguel Galán, president of the Cenafe coaching school, challenged the electoral roll of the members of the FEF assembly, and the TAD considers that it should be the electoral commission that decides whether its composition is valid. Meanwhile, with former interim president Pedro Rocha accused in ‘operation Brody’; and charged with a very serious infraction, like the entire managing commission, for not having called elections in six months and assuming functions that did not correspond to it, the FEF is beheaded and paralyzed waiting for sporting justice.

Pedro Rocha, who managed to gather 107 endorsements (75% of the FEF assembly) to aspire to succeed Luis Rubiales in office, was going to be proclaimed president of the organization last Monday. However, his appointment was postponed when the challenge was admitted and the TAD opened disciplinary proceedings on him that same day, which has taken another step to prevent the Extremaduran from being president. It is also assumed that the board of directors of the Higher Sports Council (CSD) will provisionally suspend Rocha, so in any case, the former interim president of the FEF will be permanently left out of the electoral race.

Miguel Galán, who was the scourge of Ángel Villar and Luis Rubiales, and now also of Pedro Rocha, challenged the electoral process of the FEF with the argument that more than thirty members of the assembly were not renewed and the TAD has attended to his request, contrary to what the electoral commission did. With the new resolution of the TAD, said commission must resolve on the merits of a case that further increases the scandal that grips Spanish football and of which the Government and FIFA are closely monitoring for a possible intervention by the federative body.
