The Port Authority of Malaga has announced the award to Prodevelop for the implementation of a complete port management system, marking a significant step towards the digital transformation of its services. The public entity anticipates substantial improvements in the automation of administrative processes, the comprehensive supervision of all port operations and communication between agents.
This ambitious project will consist of the implementation of the Posidonia Port Solutions suite whose main pillars are Posidonia Management, an advanced PMIS for the internal management of the port; Posidonia Operations, for the management of all phases of ship traffic in the port; Posidonia Smart, a platform that will help convert the port of Malaga into a Smart Port; and Posidonia PCS, a digital platform for the computerized exchange of documentation that serves as a Local Single Window.
Precisely, the latter is one of the main motivations for the leap towards digitalization, in the words of Carlos Rubio Basabe, President of the AP of Malaga “the implementation of this comprehensive system will help us establish ourselves as a Local Single Window and move towards a “Paperless Port” to align with the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda. This is a key point for the port’s strategy and allows us to comply with the Strategic Framework established by Puertos del Estado, as well as with our Strategic Plan, recently approved”.
The final objective is the modernization and improvement of efficiency in the management of port operations, highlighting digitalization as a key tool to achieve these objectives.
