The police detained a young foreigner due to the incident at Androv’s stadium

The perpetrator damaged the stadium at the main entrance, where he smeared the entrance door and the surrounding facades with a red liquid, pasted posters with inscriptions calling for o

accession of the club’s management and placed three pig’s heads on the concrete pillars in front of the entrance. “In connection with the case, we arrested a 19-year-old foreigner shortly after the crime. The police officers are intensively dealing with the whole matter and are investigating all connections and circumstances of the case,” said the spokeswoman.

The police classified the case as damage to another’s property, but they do not rule out a possible extension of the legal classification during the investigation. “Given that the investigation is at the very beginning, it is not possible to provide more detailed information on the matter at this time,” the spokeswoman added.

The incident is apparently related to fans’ dissatisfaction with the club, which had a series of losing matches. Disgruntled fans called on the club to make changes on posters. “It’s really been enough. Pigs in charge, give up command,” they stated.

In response to the event, the chairman of the board Petr Konečný wrote that the officials were shocked by the vulgarity and aggressiveness. “This deed resembles the practices of the worst mobsters. I can’t help but feel that this is a targeted effort to throw our club in the last rounds of the regular season,” he said on Sigma’s website.

Pig heads and posters appeared at the stadium the day before the home game with Jablonec. Olomouc’s football players finally won the 28th league round over Jablonec 1:0 on Sunday – they won at home for the first time since the beginning of October and after seven matches. It is eighth in the table.

Olomouc fans continued to protest against the club management even during the match. In the 19th minute, part of the audience demonstratively left the stands, which was supposed to symbolically commemorate the year of the club’s founding in 1919.
