This year’s badminton relegation league will be held on the largest scale ever.
The Korea Badminton Association announced on the 12th, “The 2024 badminton promotion league will be held with 166 leagues, the largest ever.” Following the 62 in 2022 and 129 last year, when the Korean Sports Council’s promotion and relegation league project was selected for the new event public offering, the scale has grown even larger this year.
This promotion-relegation league will be held for members of provincial and provincial associations. The plan is to strengthen the connection between professional sports and everyday sports by promoting and relegating them through a five-level pyramid-type promotion system.
The association said, “We plan to broadcast it live through Naver Sports and the association’s YouTube channel (BKA TV).” In addition, a dedicated manager will be dispatched to the city/city association that runs the league, and organizer liability insurance will be applied to prepare for safety accidents. This competition will be held with financial support from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation.
