The Indiana Fever choose Caitlin Clark number one in the WNBA draft

The American Caitlin Clarka generational talent that is called to change women’s basketball, was chosen this Monday as number one in the draft WNBA 2024 by the Indiana Fever.

The Indiana team confirmed all the predictions that placed Clark at the head of its promotion and will now have the last two number ones in the draft on its roster, since in 2023 it was also able to choose Aliyah Boston first.

Become a great sports star in the US beyond the university environment, Clark lands in the WNBA after a legendary NCAA career with Iowa which only lacked the icing on the cake of winning a title after losing two consecutive finals.

Cathy Engelbert, the commissioner of the WNBA, was in charge of announcing this Monday that Clark is the number one in the draft at the ceremony organized at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York. Smiling and wearing an elegant white and gray Prada outfit, Clark, 22, walked onto the draft stage and received the Fever jersey.

Indiana’s first game of the 2024 WNBA season will take place on May 14 at home and against the Connecticut Sun.

With a impressive offensive talent, especially from outside With stretches of genius reminiscent of Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors, Clark this year became the top scorer in college basketball history (male and female). The Des Moines native leads a stellar WNBA draft class that also includes Cameron Brink, Kamilla Cardoso and Angel Reese, with whom she starred in a fascinating rivalry in the NCAA.
