The Bleuets barometer before the Paris Olympics: Akliouche on fire, Wahi in difficulty

They earned their place

If there is no longer any doubt about the two goalkeepers who will be called up, Lucas Chevalier (Lille) and Guillaume Restes (Toulouse), other players seem to have definitively put their place in the warm. Castello Lukeba plays regularly in Leipzig, which is performing well (4th in the Bundesliga), while Malo Gusto (Chelsea) and Adrien Truffert (Rennes) have done well in recent weeks.

Henry loves Leny Yoro and he will take him if the Lille player, who will be transferred this summer, is not prevented from participating in the Olympics by his future club. His teammate in the North Bafodé Diakité has validated his participation: he performs with LOSC and his versatility (he can play in all positions of the defense) is an asset in a list of 18.

That of Bradley Barcola is also, but the Parisian is evolving at such a level with PSG that he will perhaps be called up to the A for the Euro, which would call into question his participation in the Olympics. Maghnes Akliouche (Monaco), on the other hand, will be there: the left-handed playmaker is in very good form at the moment in L1, notably occupying third place in L’Équipe’s ratings.

They scored points

Author of a double on Sunday against Brest (4-5), scorer and passer the previous weekend, Arnaud Kalimuendo (Rennes) is confident. In Nice, Khephren Thuram has raised his level of play, which until then was insufficient, in recent weeks. Still in the middle, Joris Chotard is an essential element in Montpellier and Henry will need a player in his profile. Brest player Bradley Locko continues to shine on his left side, while Maxime Estève is a constant starter in central defense at Burnley, who are conceding fewer and fewer goals in the Premier League.

A decisive passer on Saturday in Leverkusen (2-2), Enzo Millot continues to appear in the middle in Stuttgart, surprising third in the Bundesliga. In Lyon, Rayan Cherki is not a starter but he brings something to each entry by often being decisive, which must necessarily please the French staff. Finally, Mathys Tel can hope, since the young striker (19 years old) has just made two starts with Bayern Munich, which had never happened to him.

They lost credit

Hit during the last rally behind the left thigh, Manu Koné only played again this Sunday with Borussia Mönchengladbach and only ten minutes. His physique will have to hold up. Returning from injury for several weeks, another midfielder, Johann Lepenant, did not play again in Lyon. While he was an executive of the Espoirs at the start of Henry’s mandate, he will give up on the Olympics.

After a good month of March, Elye Wahi did not score the entire month of April and the Lens striker is in difficulty, like his club. The remark also applies to his teammate Andy Diouf, for whom the competition in midfield is likely to be tough. Georginio Rutter has not been decisive since the truce with Leeds (English D2), just like Wilson Odobert at Burnley.

The two attackers risk suffering the arrival of one or two attackers over 23 years old in the list for the Games. Désiré Doué (Rennes) seems less in danger but he plays in a team which has lost 5 of its last 6 matches in all competitions. Also watch out for Kiliann Sildillia, who has been losing momentum for a month in Fribourg.
