Kevin Seraphin(2017-19)
Weight and fragile knee, bad combination
He arrived at Barça in the summer of 2017 after 423 games in the NBA but his signing ended with a resounding failure. He spent the first nine months of 2018 without playing due to a knee injury, which he suffered more than necessary due to his usual excess weight. When he was fit he was a physical beast but Pesic gave him few minutes due to his defensive problems. The Serbian coach did not have a high regard for him and during a match in Andorra he sent him to the locker room after an exchange of words after being substituted.

Mario Kasun (2006-08)
A portent that lacks drive
He painted on a temporary basis and was left with little. Barça took him out of the NBA to make him their internal reference but this strong, tall (2.13) and coordinated Croatian center did not quite fit in, largely due to his lack of aggressiveness. A heart problem forced him to stop at the beginning of 2008, the last straw that broke the camel’s back and led Barça to cut him in the summer, a year before his contract expired.

Samardo Samuels (2015-16)
A Jamaican who is not very focused
He had played in the NBA with Cleveland and had just shown a great level at Armani Milan. Furthermore, he did not occupy a non-EU position as he was Jamaican. But his signing for Barça in the summer of 2015 did not bear the expected results, more because of his poor head than because he lacked quality. He averaged 6.7 points and 3.7 rebounds in 15 minutes. Rony Seikaly (2000)
The starry star
It was the big bombshell of that summer of 2000. Rony Seikaly, one of the most important centers in the NBA, had accepted Barça’s offer (1.8 million) to continue his career in Europe. Behind him were 12 years of career in the best league in the world with very notable averages: 14.7 points and 9.5 rebounds. The illusion was unleashed among the fans but the 35-year-old, 2.08-meter-high center never responded to expectations and also did not willingly accept that coach Aíto García Reneses limited the prominence that he assumed he should have as an ‘NBA star’. It all ended abruptly after just a few months, with the player not showing up for training after having played only 12 minutes in a Euroleague game in London. Barça did not sign him as a substitute and his time went to a young man, a certain Pau Gasol, who took advantage of them wonderfully.
