TG Stockach Embraces Change: Innovations and Challenges Ahead

Stockach. If the general meeting of the TG Stockach in the home of the Black Forest Association had one motto, then it was the motto “Change”. The meeting has now introduced some innovations, others were announced by the first club chairman Lorenzo Patone for the coming year.

First, the club chairman was allowed to honor deserving members. After Henri Kiefer and Olivia Rauhut had already been honored for their sporting achievements at the sports award, this was now also done for the “flagship” of the TG Stockach – Finn Mühlbauer. Lorenzo Patone was able to list a number of successes: including Baden indoor champion over 60 meters hurdles and 200 meters, Baden champion over 100 meter hurdles and 200 meters, South German champion over 200 meters. On the German best list he is in fourth place in the 110 meter hurdles and in the indoor arena he is even in second place.

Patone was also able to honor Ellen Hartmann, head of the fitness and health sports department, for 50 years of membership. She was always there when something was needed, he said. “You are a player that couldn’t be better imagined as a chairman. A power woman.”

Criticism of the urban youth concept

The chairman’s report also contained a lot of positive things: the club has 798 members, more than half of whom are under 26 years old. 500 members are under 18 years old. “If you look at the numbers, we’re all doing a really good job.” With almost 800 members, the TG is the largest sports club in Stockach.

A topic that did not come up for the first time in the chairman’s report was the clubhouse. “It’s tough. It’s not really making any progress.” A big challenge is finding the right heating concept, as according to the current plan it is only occupied in the evenings. “The new legal requirements have not become any easier.” He hopes that this year it will at least be so far that there is a definitive timetable so that the club knows what will happen next.

Lorenzo Patone was annoyed about the city’s support for children and youth work. “I think it’s great when children and young people are encouraged and supported in the clubs. And when a community or city does that, it’s really commendable,” he said. The city of Stockach supports VfR Stockach’s youth work as part of the youth concept with 50 euros per child, which he definitely supports.

“It annoys me that no other clubs were included in advance,” he said. “I don’t think that’s fair. There are many clubs in which a lot of great things are done in children’s and youth work.” He would like the city of Stockach to present the clubs with a solution as soon as possible.

Mayor Susen Katter, who had at least briefly accepted the association’s invitation before she had to go to the next meeting, assured: “We have it on our radar.” She emphasized how great it is what the clubs in the city are doing.

Lots of innovations in the club

The association has expanded its portfolio with two new departments. Firstly, children’s gymnastics, which had previously been part of the fitness and health sports department, was separated and Stefanie Holzwarth was elected head of the department. In addition, after the success of children’s judo last year, a new judo department was founded. The new department head is Lucien Honti. Frank Karotsch was confirmed as second chairman.

After a short discussion, the meeting decided to change the financial nature: Starting next year, the department fee for volleyball will be increased from the current ten euros to 30 euros, and the seniors’ fee will be increased from 35 euros to 50 euros. The department contribution for the new judo department was set at 30 euros.

The structure of the board is also changing, as Lorenzo Patone announced. The plan is to propose to the meeting next year that the chairman’s work be divided among a total of five people. Each of these should then be responsible for a specific area.
