Semi-final

Tsuyoshi Ojiya (Kyushu/Asahi Kasei) ○ Dominant[技有・大内返]△Goki Tajima (Tokyo, Park 24) In the final stage, Ojiya, waiting for a chance, returned Ouchi and said “Skill”

Four phases, both right-handed. Ojiya grabs his collar with his pull hand and his back collar with his fishing hand and hugs him. Tajima is pinned down in the corner, but he doesn’t take it lightly and endures by making small changes in his grappling, footwork, positioning, and pressure. 56 seconds “Guidance” of passive game stance on both sides. Ojitani came out, and Tajima intentionally slowed down the fight by using one-legged and hand-to-hand moves. At 1 minute 40 seconds, Ojitani grabbed the collar with his pull hand and used a right Konuchi-gari to hold the oku collar, and Tajima broke with a left fishing waist while holding the horizontal belt with his pull hand. Ojiya stands and endures, but there is a lot of excitement in the hall. At 3 minutes 11 seconds, Tajima showed that he was fighting for the pull and threw a left one back throw. He once again stirred excitement in the venue with his technique of hitting high and dropping his body low. Ojitani didn’t use any big techniques, instead focusing on applying pressure carefully. In the final stage, when Ojitani grabbed his collar from the handle, Tajima boldly hit him on the back collar with his fishing hand. I grabbed his armpit with my hand and hit him with a right hand. The crowd cheered as Ojitani followed with a step or two, but every time Ojiya fell back, he adjusted his position and twisted counterclockwise to return Ouchi. Tajima turned around and said that this is a “technique”. At this point, only 12 seconds remained, and Ojiya was declared the winner. (Battle review/Hideki Furuta)

FurutaFrom the match between Ojiya and Tajima. Let’s have Mr. Nishimori take the lead in both of these semifinals.

NishimoriTajima player. In the previous match, he faced Harasawa, who has a tall body and great reach, and this time, he will face Ojitani, who has pressure and weight, as a general rule. I got stuck on the outside due to Ojiya’s pressure, but I didn’t give up and continued the match by saying I was holding my ground. In this match, he showed off his left hip, and I thought he was very bold and strong-willed. If a 90kg fighter were to fight Ojiya, you would normally expect him to dodge and aim for a hit-and-away, but he spends a lot of time grappling with him. I think I was tired because of that, but I was once again impressed with Tajima’s great strength. As for the key points, Mr. Josui just told us about the behind-the-scenes details. I think Ojitani also said in the chat, “I had read about him (Ouchi Kari),” but he waited for Tajima to come up for the fight and matched the match properly to win the points. In a sense, I felt that Ojiya was able to compete comfortably in this match.
