Success for Saint-Justaires Judokas at French Cadet Championships

The Judo Institute in Paris hosted the French cadet championships 1st division (U18) on Saturday March 30 and Sunday March 31. Three Saint-Justaires judokas had recently obtained their qualification during the regional championships: Lysandre BARRIER MONTAGNON (1st), Noah LAURENSON and Lény TEXEREAU (3rd).

All 3 are members of the Pôle Espoirs de Grenoble.

Lény TEXEREAU in the top 7

On Saturday, in -60 kg, Noah won his first 2 fights before losing in the 8th final and was unfortunately not drafted. He will try to do better next season for his last year in cadets.

In the under 66 kg category, Lény won his first three fights allowing him to reach the quarter-finals where he lost against the future winner.

He then won his first repechage fight but then failed in the small final during a very competitive fight: he finished in a good 7th place.

Lysandre BARRIER MONTAGNON wins bronze

In the -63 kg category, Lysandre won her first fight, and lost in the round of 16 against the future French champion. She re-mobilized during the repechages where she had three victories and found herself fighting for 3rd place.

Lysandre won this final fight in an expeditious manner and pocketed a magnificent bronze medal for his first year among the cadets after having won silver among the juniors last season.

Next May, she will also participate in the French junior championships (1st year).

After the 3rd place obtained last week by Léo LEFRANCOIS among the juniors (U15), the club is pleased with the excellent results obtained at the national level

Hugo LAURENSON and Vitshika BAYT also qualified for the French junior championships (U21), Noah LAURENSON and Lény TEXEREAU will participate in the French cadet team championships with the Judo Loire Association in June.
