Puntigamer Sturm Graz has tied Niklas Geyrhofer to the club until the summer of 2025 with a corresponding option in his contract. The 24-year-old is rarely first choice for coach Christian Ilzer, but the homegrown player has been part of the core of the team for years. The previous week, Geyrhofer showed with his goal in the ÖFB Cup semi-final against Red Bull Salzburg (4:3).

“After fighting his way back from his knee injury, he has taken another leap forward this season and gained even more variability with the position in defensive midfield in addition to his regular position as central defender,” said sports director Andreas Schicker, according to a release .
