Marvin Ducksch is currently not experiencing an easy situation at Werder Bremen, the Bundesliga club’s fans are becoming increasingly critical. “If I were to speak from the fans’ point of view, they would hope that I would be gone in the summer,” said the Green-White attacker in the podcast.Kicker meets DAZN“.

“I keep noticing that every picture that is posted has a topic underneath it with my name on it: ‘Everything I’m doing right now sucks.’ I just get it cleverly and read through it with amusement,” he said. “It just doesn’t stop at all.” The 30-year-old doesn’t leave the situation unmoved: “I’m still trying to keep going because I can’t let anything get to me.” But he still feels very comfortable in Bremen .

Last November he was called up for the German national team for the first time and played just under 20 minutes. After that it became more difficult. Ducksch last scored in February in a 1-0 win in Mainz. Since then, the attacker has only managed one assist. “I’m not putting any pressure on myself. I believe that if I can no longer help the team, then the coach will also react,” said the Dortmund native.

Ducksch’s contract with Werder is valid until 2026 and also has a performance option for another year. Last year there were intense rumors about the departure of the top scorer (20 goals/11 assists in the 2nd Bundesliga 2021/22). With nine goals and six assists, Ducksch is once again Bremen’s most dangerous attacker this season, although they have been waiting for a win for seven games and are currently having to orient themselves back down after the European Cup euphoria that has been brewing in the meantime. The lead over the relegation zone is only five points with five games remaining.
