Stripfing and coach Uhlig go their separate ways

Head coach Maximilian Uhlig and SV Stripfing/Weiden, who are worried about staying in the Admiral 2nd League, have parted ways. As the Lower Austrians announced on Monday, the two former co-coaches Florian Hart and Florian Sattler will initially take over team training.

Under Uhlig in the spring, Stripfing had only one win in seven games with six defeats. The promoted team is 13th in the table, four points ahead of relegation.

Uhlig took over the position during the winter break from Christian Wegleitner, who joined Wiener Austria as assistant coach to Michael Wimmer. According to Stripfing’s sports director Alexander Grünwald, Uhlig asked to terminate his contract after the 3-1 defeat in Kapfenberg. The previous coach himself said that he wanted to give the club “the opportunity to give new impetus to the end of the season”.
