German golf professional Stephan Jäger is blown away by the wind at the Masters in Augusta and fails to make the cut. He still fulfills a dream. The 34-year-old has finally arrived at the top of the world.

A round of 80 strokes is considered a minor disaster for a professional – not for Stephan Jäger, not at the 88th Masters. “It had nothing to do with golf. I have only experienced such strong winds on a golf course in Great Britain. But the greens there aren’t nearly as fast,” said the Munich native after he clearly missed the cut (150 strokes) on Friday with a total of 154 strokes.

But even that couldn’t spoil his mood, especially since, according to his own estimation, he only made three misses in the extremely strong gusts of more than fifty kilometers per hour at times. He blamed the worst result of the season on the strong breezes. The Bavarian also had an explanation for the fact that world number one Scottie Scheffler and Tiger Woods played par rounds of 72 shots under these extreme conditions: “Scheffler is the best in the world, Tiger is probably the best of all time.”
