Stadiums for the Champions Cup semi-finals chosen

The EPCR communicated this Thursday the potential stadiums selected for the semi-finals of the Champions Cup which will take place during the weekend of May 4-5. The final location will be announced at the end of the quarter-finals played this weekend because the designations take into account the ranking of the semi-finalists.

If Leinster qualifies at the expense of La Rochelle, they will play their semi-final against the winner of Northampton-Bulls not at the Aviva Stadium, selected for the final of the Europa Football League, but at Croke Park. The Dublin venue (82,300 seats) reserved for Gaelic sports, has not hosted a rugby match since 2009 and a European Cup semi-final between Leinster and Munster (second highest attendance for a club match rugby, behind the 2016 Top 14 final between Racing 92 and Toulon in Barcelona).

If Toulouse qualifies at the expense of Exeter, they will host the winner of UBB-Harlequins at the Toulouse Stadium.

If the Northampton Saints (3rd) have home advantage, they will host Stade Rochelais at Stadium MK in Milton Keynes.

If UBB (4th) has home advantage, it will host Exeter at Matmut Atlantique.

If Harlequins qualify and face Exeter, it will be at the Ashton Gate Stadium in Bristol.

Finally, a United Kingdom stadium will be defined in the event that a semi-final pits the Bulls against La Rochelle.

The Challenge and Champions Cup finals will be played on May 24 and 25 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.
