2024 NBA Sixth Man of the Year odds: Injured Malik Monk remains favorite

With less than a week of regular-season play left, Sacramento Kings guard Malik Monk remains the betting favorite to win the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year award.

Monk is expected to miss the remainder of the regular season after suffering a knee injury that will sideline him for at least four weeks.

Will his recent injury put his award in jeopardy?

Based on the odds, Sixth Man could very well still be Monk’s.

Over the last two weeks, his odds have shortened to -280 from -145. The next player in his rearview is Naz Reid, whose odds lengthened to +230 from +150.

Let’s look at the recent changes to the Sixth Man of the Year odds at FanDuel Sportsbook.

SIXTH MAN OF THE YEAR ODDS: *

Malik Monk, Kings: -280 (bet $10 to win $13.57 total)
Naz Reid, Timberwolves: +230 (bet $10 to win $25 total)
Bogdan Bogdanovic, Hawks: +3100 (bet $10 to win $320 total)
Norman Powell, Clippers: +4000 (bet $10 to win $410 total)
Bobby Portis, Bucks: +10000 (bet $10 to win $1,010 total)

* odds as of 4/11/24

Though he’s second on the board behind Monk, FOX Sports betting analyst Will Hill thinks that Reid’s Sixth Man odds might be worth a sprinkle.

“[Monk] was going to win this award if he stayed healthy but he got hurt with, like, 10 games to go,” Hill noted on a recent episode of the Bear Bets Podcast. “That’ll probably cost him enough votes where Reid is in the mix and Reid could steal this award now.

“I would certainly agree with Reid at plus money.”
