Řepík will thus miss Tuesday’s fifth continuation of the series, in which Sparta leads 3:1 in the matches and is one win away from progressing to the final against Pardubice. If she can take the final step already on Tuesday, her captain will miss the first final. If Prague falls on Tuesday, Řepík will not play in Thursday’s sixth semifinal.

Sparta’s captain committed a foul two minutes before the end of the match. At the moment when Třinec was adding insurance to the empty goal to make it 4:1. Hrehorčák passed to Vrán in the middle zone, who finished into the empty goal. Moments after the pass, however, the attacker from Třinec was hit in the ribs by Řepík.

Repík’s foul sparked several skirmishes on the ice. “I was most sorry that Řepík went to hide on the substitutes’ bench and his teammates had to fight there. That seems very strange to me, such a mess,” assessed the Třinec striker Daniel Voženílek, who in the series himself was penalized for a foul on the Spartan Chlapík.

The Spartan captain later apologized for his intervention after the match. “I wanted to hit his stick to stop him from scoring. My hockey stick flew out, probably into his ribs. I apologize to him for that. I’m looking for a number so I can write to him personally,” said the Prague attacker.
