Injury drama at BVB

Sébastien Haller is celebrating his starting eleven comeback at Borussia Dortmund – but it’s over after less than ten minutes. The Ivorian is injured again.

How bitter! At Dortmund’s guest appearance in Mönchengladbach (NOW in LIVETICKER) Sébastien Haller celebrates his long-awaited starting eleven comeback. The Ivorian was allowed to start in the Bundesliga for the first time since mid-September. But after less than ten minutes his working day was over again.

What happened? Already in the 2nd minute, Haller was hit hard but fairly by Nico Elvedi in midfield. The 29-year-old then remained lying on the grass and had to be treated for his ankle by medical staff.

Haller then tried again, but BVB coach Edin Terzic immediately sent Youssoufa Moukoko to warm up.

Much consolation for BVB striker Haller

A little later there was a sad certainty: Haller’s plague season would continue, the striker actually couldn’t continue and was replaced by Moukoko.

When he left the field, the entire Dortmund bench stood up and comforted the unfortunate with high-fives and hugs.

It was only on Wednesday that Haller, who had already suffered from an ankle injury in the winter, ended an almost eight-month dry spell in the BVB jersey. He rewarded the black and yellow team for their late rebellion against Atletico Madrid and made it 1-2 with a technically demanding shot in the final phase.
