Taranto has currently finished on 65 points, tied with Casertana, fourth, but finds itself having to play the first round as fifth due to unfavorable direct clashes with the Campania team. Even with just 2 more points they would already find themselves qualified for the national phase, third ahead of Benevento (66 points) who would thus be forced to go through the direct elimination phase of the group first.
The Under 23s of Atalanta and Juventus dream of being promoted
They also qualified for the play-offs Under 23 teams of Atalanta and Juventus. The Nerazzurri, making their debut in the category, hit the target on the first try while for the Bianconeri it was their fourth participation (the best result was the elimination twice in the second round of the national play-offs, in 2020 and in 2022, ed.). Both teams can easily compete for promotion to Serie B. The regulation, in fact, is clear: “The second team of Serie A clubs may be promoted to the Serie B championship, but will never be able to participate in the same championship as the first team, nor to a higher championship. In fact, if there is a hypothesis of co-presence of the first and second team in the same category, the second team will have to participate in the professional championship of the lower category”.
