Los School Sports Games (JDE) are the most important event of their kind in Chile, calling for municipal, subsidized and private establishments of all country.
They are organized by the Ministry of Sports (Mindep) through the National Sports Institute (IND), in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and aim to promote the development of School sport.
In the School Sports Games of the year 2024, sports such as chess, athletics, adapted athletics, handball, basketball, canoeing, road cycling and mountain biking, futsal, judo, swimming, para swimming, table tennis and volleyball.
The national competition will take place in October, in the Metropolitan Region. To support regional sports in Maule in these games, the organizing entities agreed to a investment close to 200 million pesos.
In 2023, 10,195 athletes from the Maule Region participated. Specific, 5 thousand 593 men and 4 thousand 673 womens. At the same time, the number of enrolled schools increased from 180 in 2022 to 231 in 2023, representing a increase of 51 establishments.
