The declaration of Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique, who imagines himself better representing the DNA of FC Barcelona than Xavi, the current coach of the Blaugrana (see article here), did not go through at all with Ronald Koeman. The coach of the Netherlands, the Catalan’s predecessor on the Barça bench, considered the Parisian technician’s comments inappropriate.
“I don’t think it’s good to bring up such a subject before a match. Barca’s DNA is winning. There are three key names: Johan (Cruyff), who invented it. Pep (Guardiola), who played the best football. And Messi. If you have Messi, you don’t even need to talk about DNA”, argued the Batavian, on the occasion of the launch of the Koeman Cup, a charity golf and padel tournament.
