The Haute Garonne Departmental Council revealed this Tuesday, April 30, the names of the 6 athletes who will carry the Olympic flame in the pink city. Romain Ntamack and Guillaume Restes are among them.

Rugby player Romain Ntamack and footballer Guillaume Restes will carry the Olympic flame on May 17 in Toulouse, the Haute-Garonne Departmental Council announced on Tuesday.

The number 10 of Stade Toulouse, part of the XV of France, should be the last bearer that day and as such have the privilege of lighting the cauldron in the Stade Ernest-Wallon, where the flame will spend the night. As he indicated in the columns of La Dépêche, “as a kid, I always watched the opening ceremonies.”

As for the TFC goalkeeper, 19, he is expected to participate in the Olympic football tournament, with the French team coached by Thierry Henry.

4 other athletes selected

Alongside these sports media, 4 other athletes were selected. David Berty, former French rugby international (6 caps), the young 23-year-old boxer Rim Bennama (2 times French Elite champion). Two disabled athletes were also selected. Fencer Brianna Vidé who won 7 World Cup medals last year, as well as Coralie Gonzalez, a Goalball practitioner.

Before arriving in Toulouse, on May 17, the Olympic flame will leave from Revel (Haute-Garonne) before passing through Villemur-sur-Tarn, Muret, Rieux-Volvestre, Colomiers, and Bagnères-de-Luchon
