The Lugo municipality has given the green light to the executive project for the renovation of the former building More in via Macello Vecchioowned by the municipality, where they will find space two new gyms for judo and boxing sports activities.
“This is an urban regeneration intervention of a ground floor building which was originally a building for artisan work and, in the 1990s, changed its use and became a supermarket. The recovery foresees that, in addition to the two gyms, a civic room with independent entrance will also be created” explain the Municipality of Lugo.
The two gyms with wooden floors will be 242 square meters respectively for judo (where the Tatami will be placed) and 159 square meters for boxing, with the related changing rooms, toilets and showers. All these venues have already obtained a favorable opinion from CONI for non-competitive activities. The next step after the approval of the executive project is the publication of the tender for the subsequent awarding of the works. The investment for this urban regeneration work is 1,400,000 euros, entirely covered by resources from the Municipal Administration.
The car park on Via Macello Vecchio is part of the post-flood restoration works affecting Piazza Garibaldi and which will be carried out starting next May.
