Reggio Emilia Panathlon Honors ASD Equipe Emilia Judo: A Night of Celebration and Demonstration

It was the presentation of an enthusiastic club, the one carried out by the Reggio Emilia Panathlon towards the ASD Equipe Emilia Judo, founded only ten years ago, but already with excellent results in the Italian A1 Series.

Enrico Prandi and the master of ceremonies Paolo Panciroli created an “entertaining” evening, because apart from the story of the club and the viewing of some videos, at the end there was a practical demonstration on the carpet by several athletes.

And some guests, including the club’s athletic trainer Antonio Tallarita and mental coach Ciro Di Palma, even managed to throw high-level international judokas to the ground… albeit a little too willingly.

“We have a hundred members – says the deus ex machina and president Andrea Aldini – with athletes who come from different countries, Georgia, Morocco and Albania, professionals in terms of sporting commitment with two training sessions a day, but without sponsors. We are a company sportswoman of inclusion and in our ranks there is also a 74 year old American lady, Sally Noddings, who practices judo among amateurs”.

“Yes – says Sally in excellent Italian – learning to fall has saved my life several times, you have to learn this judo technique that can be useful every day”.

The vice president of the company is the Tunisian Massaoud Seghaier, the most representative athlete is the Georgian Irakli Beroshvili, absent from the evening and looking for a pass for the Paris Olympics, who in recent days has dominated the scene in the European Cup held in Dubrovnik, Croatia, taking home the prestigious trophy in the +81 category.

And then again Luka Japaridze, Ekabbane Abdessamad, Serri Taho, Paolo Taho, Irakli Demetrashvili, Andrea and Simone Pallotta and the master Giorgi Samkharauli who many ago was champion of the then Soviet Union, an element of great international knowledge and experience.
