RC Lens: suspected of having lied on his CV, the new head of the recruitment unit already dismissed

This looks like a lightning passage in the North. Ten days after being hired as head of the recruitment unit at RC Lens, currently 6th in Ligue 1, Mike Mode, 25, was fired, even before the end of his trial period. “His trial period was ended this weekend,” said general manager Arnaud Pouille this Thursday at a press conference.

For several days, the newcomer, a former amateur player, had been at the center of questions regarding the authenticity of certain references appearing on his curriculum vitae. The said document notably reported eight months spent at Sevilla FC, as a scout (recruiter) for youth teams, which could prove to be inaccurate. “A lot of things were published this weekend…”, simply underlined Arnaud Pouille, without giving further details.

Still, the general manager of the northern club took the lead during this Thursday’s press conference and made the official announcement of Mike Mode’s departure.

Franck Haise refocused on the first team

Arnaud Pouille thus exempted coach Franck Haise from this mission, who for his part abandoned his hat as general manager of the club a few weeks ago, worn in October 2022, in order to refocus on the first team and the field.

This Thursday, Arnaud Pouille once again confirmed Frédéric Hébert, the club’s sports coordinator, and his deputy Romain Peyrusqué in their positions, who had been contested internally in recent times. The fact that they are not present full time at Gaillette, the Sang et Or training center, as well as their working method deemed insufficiently understandable, is causing tensions within the club. For sports coordination, the president of RC Lens, Joseph Oughourlian, would have expressed his desire for a transparent strategy and daily involvement at the club.
