The Venezuelan pitcher, Ranger Suárez, threw his first shutout of the 2024 Major League Baseball (MLB) season and was the architect of the Philadelphia Phillies’ 5-0 victory over the Colorado Rockies in a match played on Tuesday night in Citzens Bank Park, home of the Quakers.

Suárez achieved his second “grout” in his career of seven campaigns in the Big Show. He allowed seven hits, walked one and struck out eight to be the star of the duel between National League teams. The left-hander improved his record to 3-0 in the current contest.

His infield rival, Austin Gomber (0-1), worked 5.1 innings, allowing three earned runs and six hits to lose the regular round match. He totaled four strikeouts and walked none.

“Manager Rob Thomson asked me to finish the game and that’s what I did. “I feel very happy about my work today (Tuesday),” Suárez said in an interview with Todd Zolecki, MLB.com journalist, after the recent match in which he left his ERA at 1.73.

“I feel very good. I hope to continue in that way,” added the sinister who totaled 112 pitches to complete his performance and placed 79 in the strike zone.

“I think he’s the best third starter in the Majors,” said Bryce Harper, Philadelphia’s first baseman who finished 2 for 4 with one run scored and three RBIs.
