Quintana Roo Judo Team Shines in Macro Regional Eliminatory, Qualifies 12 Athletes for CONADE Nationals

The Quintana Roo National Team in the judo discipline shone with its own light during its participation in the Macro Regional eliminatory held in Oaxaca, ensuring the qualification of 12 athletes for the final phase of the CONADE 2024 Nationals.

After several days of intense competitions, the state team was made up of eight representatives from Tulum, three from the municipality of Benito Juárez, and one from Solidaridad. These athletes are now preparing to compete for medals in the final phase of the most important amateur sports event in the country, which will take place in Campeche.

In the U-15 category, six people from Quintana Roo advanced to the final phase. Darla Valeria Saavedra Caamal from Benito Juárez in the 58 kilos, Marcus Daniel Álvarez López in the 36 kilos, and Jadiel Eduardo Urbina González in the 53 kilos, both from Tulum, secured their qualification by advancing in first place. Luna Ixchel Ramírez Ramírez, Kenny Eliel Vázquez Cámara, and Brian Arturo Dzul Canul, all from Tulum, also qualified as second places in their respective categories.

In the Under-18 category, four athletes made it through, including Ariadna Yarey Chávez Medina from Tulum in the 70 kilos and Zoé Cristel Gómez Rodríguez from Solidaridad in more than 70 kilos, who advanced as first place in their events. Shahin Alexander Fonseca Quintero from Benito Juárez in the 60 kilos and Miguel Adolfo Núñez Tun from Tulum in 81 kilos, classified as second places.

In the Under-21 division, Emiliano Escalante Pérez from Tulum took first place in the 81 kilos, while Diana Kristel Suárez Romero from Benito Juárez took second place in the 52 kilos.

In addition, Cancun also stood out with Abisai Canales Tun, Jocelyn Guadalupe Saavedra Caamal, Alfa Benahí Figueroa Blanco, Kevin Ivan del Angel Hernandez, and Fernanda Isabella Alvarez Lopez, who finished third in their respective categories and await confirmation of their a rating the CONADE Nationals.
