Kylian Mbappé is popular, without a doubt. But this would be a little higher in Spain than in France. According to a survey carried out by Odoxa, 66% of football fans in France have a good opinion of the PSG striker, compared to 74% on the other side of the Pyrenees. The gap is more significant when it comes to people with a very bad opinion of him: there are 12% in France compared to only 3% in Spain.
However, in both countries more than eight out of ten people agree that he is a worker. According to football fans, the second adjective that best suits it would be “spectacular”. On the other hand, only 50% of Spaniards and French find him humble.
For voters, Mbappé above Haaland
If the name Kylian Mbappé is more divisive in France, 53% of football fans consider him the best player in the world at the moment. A slightly lower figure in Spain with 49%. Both countries are, however, convinced that he is a much better player than Erling Haaland (69% in France, 66% in Spain).
Once again, French and Spanish football fans agree that the captain of the France team will join Real Madrid next summer. More than eight out of ten people are convinced of this, and for seven of them, it would be a good thing.
During this poll, voters were also invited to predict the result of the quarter-final of the Champions League between Paris Saint-Germain and FC Barcelona. For 53% of French people, it is Luis Enrique’s players who will qualify. The gap is even wider in Spain, where only 43% believe in Barça’s chances.
