Loaned with an option to buy this winter to Eintracht Frankfurt, Hugo Ekitike officially leaves Paris Saint-Germain. Three months after his arrival, the German club decided to exercise its purchase option of 16.5 million euros, to which are added the 3.5 million of the paying loan. Recruited from Stade de Reims during the 2022 summer transfer window for 35 million euros, the French striker will never have managed to establish himself in the capital club.

Author of a goal and an assist in twelve matches with the German club, Hugo Ekitike has not been unanimously unanimous since his arrival and has struggled to really establish himself in the eleven, but has indeed committed himself permanently until in 2029 with the current sixth in the Bundesliga.
“During his previous appearances, Hugo showed all his qualities. We firmly believe in his great potential and look forward to seeing him in the Eintracht jersey beyond the current season,” sporting director Markus Krösche said on the club’s website.
This transfer comes a few days after his first achievement under the colors of Frankfurt. The 21-year-old striker allowed his team to take the lead against Augsburg last weekend, in a crucial victory for the race for Europe in the Bundesliga (3-1). Until then, the German press had fun nicknamed the native of Reims: “Mister zero goals”.
