The CAB sports director carried out a work tour planning the next steps of the different teams
After an intense week that included a tour of several European cities and a series of work meetings, Andrés Pelussi, CAB Sports Directorreturned to Argentina and analyzed it with CAB Press.
“The objective was to start working on all the commitments that we are going to have with all the National Teams, both senior and formative. “I was able to visit friends who work and who are going to collaborate with us and I was also able to see some of our players in action, both in their local leagues and in European competitions.”Pelussi began explaining after his trip through Spain and Italy.
In northern Italy he received it Luis Scola. The former player and legend of the Argentine National Team, currently CEO of Pallacanestro Varese of the Lega Basket Serie A, opened the doors of his project and made himself available to Argentine basketball. About this, Pelussi stated: “I am very grateful to Luis for how he received me and for his willingness. Furthermore, being able to see the Pallacanestro Varese project live and told by him is a huge pleasure. We shared a dinner and a working lunch, telling him where we want to go and receiving his willingness to collaborate with the CAB, on a personal level and with Varese.”
He also participated in the meetings there in Varese Herman Mandoleassistant of Pablo Prigioni in the senior men’s national team and part of the technical staff of Italian Varese since 2022.
“Within the Pallacanestro Varese facilities, which we were visiting with Luis, they are finishing an area where any training or senior team can be received, with all the comforts, so that they can prepare focused on the tournament they have to face. They are first class facilities. I congratulated them because they have turned it into a specialized work center for top-level basketball worldwide.”he added.
Continuing with the Italian recorrida, Teddy bear visited Salvatore Trainotti, sports director of the Italian Basketball Federation (FIP) and related: “I had an excellent meeting. “They have to play the last qualifying chance for the Olympic Games and they are interested in us being able to play a couple of friendly matches in a possible preparation that we are going to have as the main team in Europe.”
Taking advantage of the sports calendar, the CAB Sports Director also met with some of the men’s National Team players to continue working on the team’s next steps. “I was able to be with Facundo Campazzo, Gabriel Deck, Nico Brussino, Juan Pablo Vaulet and Leandro Bolmaro, seeing them in action but also in meetings where I told them what we have as our objective in the CAB and what we want to do in the European summer with our main coach Pablo Prigioni”he explained.
Ruben Wolkowskia historic member of the Golden Generation and who was with the main men’s team in Alicante last European summer, also accompanied Pelussi on some of these visits to Spain.
“This type of management and work tour has to be within the sports management agenda, where we can plan the different preparations in the best way, be it training or for our senior teams. I appreciate the effort made by the Argentine Confederation and the total support of the leaders so that this type of tour can be carried out and surely bear fruit in the short and medium term.”he concluded.
